Ok, maybe not a series as much as one big, unfortunate event.
My computer died. More specifically, my hard drive died.
What that means is that ALL of my files, and more importantly, my pictures from the last THREE YEARS, are ALL GONE. Forever. To infinity and beyond. I am beyond upset. There were many tears, as those pictures included documentation of some very important events in my life. My honeymoon (though Duane may have some of those), all of our road trips taken to this day, hikes, camping trips, friends, friends' babies (so very sad about those!), baby showers, and my baby sister's wedding and family time this past May. As much as Duane has pictures of our trips and such on his computer, it's not the same as having MY pictures, the ones I took and edited. I suppose it's a good thing I have been blogging, because at least I can look at the pictures on there...but I can't access them to re-edit or play with them in any way, and that sucks. I always look at pictures...I really should have printed more, but the theory was that they'd always be on the computer, so why print them? Anyway. I've learned my lesson. Always back your files up!! I just need to take pictures and start from scratch again. 3 years worth is a lot of pictures to lose! I'll have to play catch-up, as well as try to figure out how this silly computer works :) Oh, and I'll have to spend a few hundred dollars so I can have an editing program again, 'cause this thing doesn't come equipped with Photoshop..or anything, for that matter. Boo that.
I don't know how much blogging I'll have to do until I have pictures to blog with again...and pictures that are edited with an editing program that I don't have :) Soooo....once Duane's crazy busy week is over, I'll have him help me with that stuff and I'll get back on the blogging track!

Ooooo, that sucks. My family also learned the "back your files up" lesson the hard way. A few years ago, the same thing happened to our FAMILY computer which had loads of stuff on it from most (if not all) family members. That sucks.
Good thing your hubby's a pro photographer and you can make and document many new memories!
Still though...sucky.
I am so sorry Karyn. I know how that feels. My computer crashed and I lost a lot of pictures and important files and my 12 page nursing paper which was due in days. Soooo CRAPPY!
But I think I was the most upset about the pictures and the memories that I couldn't get back. So sad. But good luck with creating new memories through pictures and have fun backing them all up!!!
